What are Digital Biomarkers?
Digital biomarkers are measures of behavior and symptoms obtained in the moment using electronic devices, especially smartphones and other devices familiar to the patient. These include active measures, such as responding to survey question and recording short video “selfies” for natural language processing, and automated analysis of facial expressions and vocal characteristics. Passive measures include geolocation and accelerometry.
